Why do we have standardized tests in the first place?
Why is the interpretation of the results of standardized testing important for understanding whether or not the scores are valid or invalid?
What sorts of things might a standardized test do a good job of measuring? By contrast, what sorts of things might a standardized test do a poor job of measuring?
Standardized tests are used to measure learning in many countries around the world. What are some other methods that schools might use? What are the advantages and disadvantages of these other methods?
What should be the role (if any) of standardized testing in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education?
If we were to replace standardized testing, what should we replace it with? How else do we know a student has achieved the required "goals" school attempts to accomplish?
